Embedded Processor Development

The BoxView IDE is a complete environemt for embedded development for Freescale DSPs and SiLabs MCUs. It leverages Eclipse - an open source, extensible developers' platform of choice. Inside BoxView IDE programmers can create, test and debug applications with fast data access and extensive display capabilities.

Currently we support two families of chips - Freescale DSPs (DSP560xx, DSP563xx, DSP567xx) via JTAG/OnCE and 8051 MCUs (SiLabs, Actel Core8051, Silicon Laude SL8051). We have EC3 and EC2 support for 8051 on Linux and additionally we support TS on Windows. BoxView IDE provides a target simulator to use when the target is not available for testing.

For each debug session, information is controlled and organized by interacting with the embedded processor target through monitoring software or on-chip hardware circuitry. Many graphical views are supplied to facilitate control of your embedded processor testing. The Code window displays a program in source, assembler, or mixed mode. The Active program's source code window affects the display in the Debug Code window. The current program counter, associated assembler instructions, and defined breakpoints are visible. A command window supports the use of over 140 commands. Also available are multiple graph windows for memory content with user control of vertical axis, scale, and optional interleaved waveforms. BoxView IDE provides support for 8051 and Freescale DSP (56K) processor types.
